Double Indemnity

The Director of Double Indemnity is Billy Wilder. The use of font in the title sequence is very interesting. The man slowly appears, he starts off small which makes him seem vulnerable and weak which is emphasised even more with his crutches. Cacophonous atmosphere.
The films starts off with a lot of chaos and then slowly becomes fairly quiet and then goes back to chaos again.

This is the opening of Double Indemnity.I couldn't find the title sequence and so i had to just post the opening,

There is a fade which represents the time traveling that takes place. The opening is set at night which makes it more metaphorical. Then suddenly the music becomes very slow and almost becomes very solemn this creates a sense of eeriness and fright,
There is light coming in from so many different places that helps the scene become more obscure and more diverse with light, but still keep it natural and realistic for example the light from the lift keeps it still very normal and keeps the realism,
The camera continues to follow the man which creates a sense of isolation and loneliness. He's much like a metaphorical darkness, He's shown as a dreary character who keeps himself to himself and doesnt talk to anyone, cuts himself off from everyone. he us becoming an enigma and also There is use of chiaroscuro lighting which creates more a contrast in the scene.
