Cinema City - 8
(doesn't include films being shown again in 3D)

Select a range of 3 different films for each cinema. How many times is each film screened?
Vue Cinema City
Kick-Ass 12 7
Alice In Wonderland 8 3
Nanny McPhee and the Big Bang 14 7

How many films are being screened several times at the same cinema? What does this mean for audiences?
Overall the films being exhibited are more widely shown at Vue cinemas in comparison to Cinema City. Also in total the films being shown there are more films being screened at Vue than Cinema City. The reason that there are more of one film being screened in Vue cinemas than Cinema City is because one film has also another screening but in 3D and so in order to make extra money they must do more screenings of the film. Also the films that i've selected are all mainstream film and as a cinema industry, Vue is focused on screening mainstream films. On the other hand Cinema City is more focused on independent films and so these films are not as much of a priority.

Identify the total number of films in relation to the total number of screenings.
Films Screenings
Vue 11 76
Cinema City 8 24

Of these, how many are being screened at more than one cinema at the same time?
3 films- Alice in Wonderland, Nanny McPhee and the Big Bang and Kick-Ass.
Coincidently all of these films are in fact American films which shows that the American film industry is more successful than the British film industry because they cannot do as many screenings for their films as much as Hollywood films.

Identify the % of Hollywood films vs. British films for each cinema that weekend.
American Films - 80%
British Films - 10%
Other Films - 10%

What conclusions can you draw about how different audiences are catered for in your local area?
People who prefer more conventional films that do not target controversial topics would rather go see mainstream films which are usually presented at Vue cinemas. Whereas people who like films that are more controversial and convey more realism would rather go to Cinema City and watch independent films.
