Results for Sub Genre's within Thrillers

I played all the clips to 13 students and asked which of the thrillers attracted them the most and which two they would go see in the cinema. The thrillers they chose were from these sub genre's;

Crime thriller, Suspense/Drama thriller, Action thriller, Religious thriller and a Psychological thriller.

Crime Thriller - 8

Suspense/Drama Thriller - 2

Action Thriller - 9

Religious Thriller - 3

Psychological Thriller - 4

These are the results I accumulated. They show that action thrillers and crime thrillers were more liked by viewers possibly for the special effects or because of the thrillers applying conventional ideas such as binary opposites like good versus evil. Religious thrillers and Drama thrillers were not liked as much possibly because they tend to tackle more controversial ideas and this means that the audience had to apply their mind and think about the film.
